Would anyone like to admit to being the dashing cyclist in the rolla jersey astride a lovlely Bob Jackson on Stroud Green Road last night? I spotted the jersey and attempted the secret rolla nod of acknowledgement... you might have mistaken this for a comely wink.

Indeed. At the junction of tollington park and stroud green. I was waiting at the lights on my Mercian behind a long haired dude on a cream road bike.

I spotted Jos with Rolla cap on, riding east on Clerkenfix Road the other day.

Also spotted a Dutch/Belgian guy wearing a Rollapaluza cap on the Oude Kwaremont climb during the Tour of Flanders.
I had my Rolla shirt on and went up to him "nice hat!" while pointing at my shirt. He said he got it from one of the Rolla overlords in London.
I then had to retreat up the hill to watch the race come by.. Rolla spotting ftw!

That's not true, today I am wearing a Rapha jersey although I did originally have a Rolla one on before I left the house.

so many people wear the jerseys at herne hill these days I had resorted to using the outlandish 6 day jersey I got for a fiver, until two other riders turned up last monday sporting the same ones! I have two rollaplataza jerseys and seem to be always washing them, the larger one is good for winter when I can wear it over a base layer, and the tight one is, well, tight.

time to get a camo skinsuit

You'd hit the deck before you knew what was happening but with enough time to piss yourself.

Pecs, weight of the world, playing with knives.

So why are you so slow compared to me? Are you of ill health? Inbreeding gave you poor genes? Or just generally inferior?

unless you get on the track and do a flying 200, we'll never know.

maybe if you are faster it's because I'm older than you and I've only been riding for a couple of years?

or you just have a massive ego?

I'd still have you in a fight, any day. of that I am sure. Remember the night I held you down? oh you were "asleep"

that goes for the rest of you too, before anyone starts

Flying 200*? Sure, when you do a Flying 200k.

All of those reasons may contribute to me being faster than you. Mostly the ego though.

Yeah, that night was the best "sleep" I've ever had.. let's do it again some time soon sexy man.

*What is your PB for the flying 200, at Hernia Hill?

still learning it really, been winding it up too late recently, Guy's speedo suggests around the late 12s early 13s when we ride together ATM. and I stopwatched one of his slower efforts at 14.10

pretty hard to get it spot-on with such a large track, have to run a bit between points

    first try on rollapaluza= 21.97
second time (after working the rigs all night and 4 pints, when I used to drink) = 22.18

I'm sure I could get into the 21.5s and under with the right trousers and some practice but I'm a better MC and coach than roller racer

Spotted a rolla jersey ploughing up Mont Ventoux the day before the stage, I ran alongside and shouted "do a skid" and we then got into the logistics of skidding on a geared road bike before i got tired and stopped running. Apologies if it was anyone on here, I'd been on the vin rouge for most of the day.

smithchild: that was me! thought it must've been someone off this or the other forum, i did have a smile about it but to be honest i was pretty shagged from the climb and couldn't muster up much of a conversation... haha nice to meet you :) Andrew Molan (molman) and his brother Matt were a little way ahead of me, Andrew was also wearing his Rolla jersey. we made it to the summit, but it was hot and heavy going! absolutely awesome ride though, one of the most scenic i've done.

I also spotted another club member who I have met but whose name escapes me on the saturday, and who gave me a wave and a tip of the rolla cap. We were sitting about 10km from the summit, enjoying the shade and the spectacle with a couple of bottles of vin rouge. excellent :)

chapeau.! We had loose plans to borrow some mates' bikes and ride the mountain on the saturday morning which (fortunately/unfortunately) fell through after a night on the sauce with the dutch corner. Where I saw you, about 9/10km from the summit seemed to be the point of no return as I saw loads of folk turning around or getting off. Bloody ace couple of days on the mountain and i'm definitely going back with my bike later this year. some of our photo's should be up soonish at bellhallvelo.blogspot.com
