Riding my bike keeps me sane and fit. For me, nothing beats caning it through the London traffic.

    The other half of Rollapaluza.

Ex courier & ex controller, now this and MTB tours are what is keeping me from getting a real job.

I have many bikes, five not including my increasing MTB hire fleet & I'm looking forward to getting back on the track this year.

    Music is my other love.

    Hi all

Urbane cyclist seeks friendly club to expand horizons. Age / sex / weight unimportant. Looking for GSOH, country rides, fun nights out, a spot of racing and LTR if you play your cards right.

    Hi,

    Jakob
Danish ex-pat (Been in London for some 15 years now, apart from 1 year in NZ)
Work in visual effects and I may be the odd one out here, although I love cycling, my main 'hobby' is kendo. (And I'm off to the European Kendo Championships next week!).
Grew up on a bike, skateboarded my way into the 90's and then changed to BMX (Vert/Street). Bike got stolen, moved to London, got fat and the started cycling again some 6-7 years ago?. First your default MTB, then a road bike, then a nice roadbike and then sold it all off and built a fixie a bit more than 2 years ago. Been on track a few times and love it, but am old & slow.
Currently bikeless(!) as I knew I wouldnt ride much in the build-up to the Europeans, so I sold off the Walvale, but are just about to put down the money for a new Steve Goff track frame, which I should hopefully get mid-April. (fixed only for me).

    Hello,

I'm mashton, or Matt in the real world. I have ridden bikes all my life but got a bit more serious about it when I started cycle commuting in London about 3 years ago. I now ride about 100 fixed miles a week and try to get out for longer rides (fixed / geared depending on mood) when I can.

I've been thinking about the idea of doing some racing for a while, btu quite want to do some club runs first to see how rubbish I really am. i am also toying with the idea of doing Lands Ends to John O'Groats next year with my brother.

Looking forward to meeting you all in the lanes.

I'm Tim. I'm Aussie, 27, like long walks on the beach and candlelit dinners....

I've been riding bikes since I was a youngster, but never very seriously, have never raced. Usually been on a road bike. Have done a few long rides (Audax rides in Australia and the Around the Bay in a Day ride in Melbourne a couple of times). I like to get out for a ride of a weekend, too. Being new to this country i'd like to see a bit of countryside, too. When I'm fit (not now) I quite like riding up big hills.

My real sporting ability is in running - i've been racing on the road and track (400m-1500m) for about 12 years, until I came to London in 2007.

As a result I'd like to have a go at some track cycling. I'm good for about 2 minutes of sustained effort!

    Also, rollers. So yeah.

    Hello there.

Well today I got the matching rear Shamal for my titanium Raleigh racer which is the sweet and almost final realisation of my ambition of owning and riding one of them bikes like what they ride on the tv up and down hills in Europe.

Been collecting dockets on the mean streets of London for a couple of years now and have been loving the alleycats, the rollers, the track, the road, the whole lot. This year I really want to up the ante on myself and get some miles in, whether that be weekend rides, track sessions, road races or whatever we manage to come up with. All preferably in blazing sunshine and no wind...

    zoooooommm!!!!!

    Hi All,

I'm Pete, lived in and around London for 15 years, originally from Manchester - but no longer a 24 hour party person. I ride a fixie to work every day, a specialized roubaix at the weekends and a De Rosa Tango in races. Broke my knee in dec 07, so still fighting back to fitness. Live in the sticks now, but ride up to London once a week and enter events in London all the time...

Love the rollers I've been to. Love the hilly bits, love the rain - hate the wind. Hoping to get out to the Pyrenees in the summer...

hippy has his whole life story on the web already but his compulsive posting means he'll have to give another summary here as well..

riding bikes in most form for most of my life (road, bmx, mtb, track, touring, tri's - none of them done very well). when i stop riding i tend to get homicidal followed by suicidal so it's best that i'm kept in a pedaling state.

mostly non-competitive (yeah right) road riding now, getting into the sportive thing over here as I've lost my bottle for the crit racing which i so loved doing in Melbourne.
Love roller racing although I'm too slow to win anything but I've never let losing get in the way of having a laugh :)

this year's main rides: tour of wessex, londres-paris, chiltern 100, devil ride

'net stalkers can check out more of my ranting and self-love at thehippy.net :)

Been riding since the days of a 70's BSA 3 speed with cowhorns and cut down mudguards, progressed to a chopper then Raleigh burner with yellow mags, kept going through XC then downhill mtb followed by hucking. Since deciding I need to get fitter I'm now into sportives, cyclocross and occassional play onthe mtb.

Work in London but live in the sticks.

    How do.

I'm new to the club (I suppose everyone is). I'm 33 and London born and bred.

I've done quite a few types of pedal cycling over the years. BMX, flatland, freestyle, road, XC, DH etc.

I am new to the roadie scene having had a 'racer' for a few months. I ride most days after work and do runs out into the country at the weekend. 50 miles is as far as I've gone though :)

I entered a race at Hillingdon a couple of weeks ago and was handed my ass on a plate. I know how fit I need to be now so am working on it.

Looking forward to riding bikes with you lot.

Ex-courier 1996-2004, some casual track racing experience, hoping to rekindle my interest in riding track by visiting Herne Hill frequently this year once the weather has improved. I've become a bit of a fair weather cyclist except for regular use of our family vehicle, a Two's Company tandem that has my 8 year old daughter as the stoker.

    Afternoon,

Known in the real world as Dave (Mac).
Cycling history goes back to the days of a Raleigh Boxer ( bought because i wasn't allowed a BMX ,snapped the rear end trying to follow a PK Ripper over a step up), a 5 speed racer ( seemingly made out of lead and bought because according to my old man ,BMX will never last), saved up for a Raleigh Team made out of 501 , mountain biking came along and I had an Alpinestars with the very odd rear end, got into racing and embarassed myself at the 1991 British Champs when I was overtaken by a guy on a shopping bike ( Team Happy Shopper).Rediscovered the world of BMX with an S&M Dirt bike in the late 90's. More recently started riding fixed ( new mercian arrives on monday) and also back into road riding on my Enigma Ti road bike.

This year hopefully have a crack on the track ( was up at the World Champs in Manchester last week) ,Dunwich (fixed...),couple of sportives and maybe the rollers.

Should be around on Monday night to say hello.

I had trike when I was a toddler, and rode a bike to school.

Courier 1986 - 1999. I have done a whole bunch of different courier/messenger races. And even won a couple.

Started racing Eastway 10s, then graduated to crits and 'proper' road races. Ridden 5 or 6 'proper' track meets at HHV.

Also done a bit of Audax, got Brevet des Randonneurs Mondiaux (200k).

Done the Marmotte Cyclosportive twice, second time missed my Gold time by 3 seconds ('might as well have been 3 hours', said someone) and got a Gold in La Ventoux sportive.

Been off the bike (I mean I ride to work and that but...) for a couple of years, so just looking to get some rides in, maybe do some Audaxes and a track meet or two... oh, and some Hillingdon.

I wasn't impressed at all! I thought the Gold time was 8h 50. But it was 8h 49. So when I crossed the line I thought I had made Gold. It was only when I got the cert that I realised my ghastly mistake.

    My other love's is food.

I now hunt for bikes I adored when I got into cycling about 20 years. Always been a social rider with a weak spot for long distances. Do quite a bit of long distance running as well.
Planning to add some classic routes and climbs so the bikes get exposure to the environment they were build for but. I am equally happy misusing the track bike for night rides.
Own one fixed and one road at the moment that is as much as my living room can take.

    Hello everyone

I have been an off-on messenger since 2004. Been trying to get back on the circuit but no-one seems to be hiring at the moment. I have just returned from a short time in New York, which has made me appreciate how well London drivers treat cyclists (relatively!)

I enjoy riding long distances, especially climbing as I don't really have the build for sprinting etc. I have cycled the route of the Marmotte and done most of the famous French climbs. I've also cycled London-Amsterdam and back a couple of times. Looking forward to a few long rides

Currently riding a couple of battered fixies and a shiny new Condor road

    Greetings Rollaz!

Physio by day and avoiding injured people by night.

Living in Camden, working in Hackney, cycling everywhere and anywhere inbetween. Raced MTB and cyclocross in my teens, moved to London 8 years ago and got a penchant for skinny rubber and big gears. Build up a new singlespeed conversion with a view to sell but it's unique and it's mine so it's staying. Only ride geared now for sportives. Looking forward to getting on the rollers!

i ride fixed gear bikes because i think they are rad (and i want to be like my hero, buffallo bill). i've really only had a couple of fixed bikes. i sometimes by stuff on ebay as well.
