The White Horse Challenge cyclo-sportif (competitive, long distance bike ride but not a race!) was held last Sunday 27th April in Wiltshire.
Rollapaluza CC rider “Hippy” rolled in 33rd out of 550 starters! in a time of 4:43:45. less than 18 mins behind the “winner” and miles ahead of 90% of the field, only 390 managed to finish this tough 150k event.

Rollapluza CC’s club mascot Jos gets the win at Crystal Palace last night, that’s two wins in five days for us thanks to James’ win at the roller race on Saturday….pretty good going.

Rollapaluza CC was well represented, not only in the official Rollapaluza team but also we had club members guest riding for various other teams too….we even had a winner in Janky James! a classic victory in the “have a go” open competition, making it look very easy and painless. Read more »
Four of us turned up today for a quick spin in Essex and the Epping Forest, finishing in plenty of time to get back to watch the Paris Roubaix on telly. 36 miles covered in 2 1/2 hours including the tea stop below…so a very modest pace.
Our first appearance at a road race resulted in our first podium finish, London’s super courier Jos get’s a second place today at Chertsey and from what I hear if he hadn’t run out of road he would’ve got first….well done mate!

Dazzler got a creditable 14th out of 70 entrants in the 4th Cat race, so agood start for him too.

There will be a free club roller-race this Monday in a yet to be announced East/Central london venue….which will be announced to club memebers via the mailing list….friends welcome.
It will be a very relaxed format and is basically an opportunity for Time Out journalists to write a small piece on Rollapaluza and take some snaps, as well as having some fun and practising for the upcoming Rapha Roller race……you will be photographed!
